Signs (with apologies to the Five Man Electrical Band)

While walking home from work today I passed this sign.  No stopping or standing?  Really?  Be careful.  They might prosecute you if you spend too much time trying to read the historical marker to the right of the "sign."  While I was taking the photos I kept expecting someone to come running out of the church yelling at me for stopping on the corner.

Actually I am sure this sign is just a way for the church to try to drive away the homeless people who congregate in the "park" next door.  I guess they haven't gotten around to reading Matthew 25:31-46 yet.

Beautiful view of Herty Field

This is my favorite view on campus.  To find this you would have to go to the third floor of the annex of the law library.

Views on Campus

Robert E. Park Hall.  University of Georgia.  Home to The Departments of English and Classics and Comparative Literature.

I just love the top of Park Hall

Memorial Hall was completed in 1925 to honor those UGA alums who lost their lives in the First World War

Wishing for summer

During the past few cold days I've been longing for summer.  Of course, I know once those hot humid August days are upon us I will be wishing for cooler weather.

Beautiful Day in Athens

What a nice day yesterday!  This is the view looking towards Lumpkin/Broad intersection from North Campus.
Located on Broad Street across from UGA Campus.  Once home to a bank and an insurance company. Current downstairs occupant is...wait for it...a bar.  Surprised?

1930 Indian Trail Marker

Located on the corner of Lumpkin and Green Streets, this monument was erected on Nov. 27, 1930  by the Elijah Clarke chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  I have passed by it hundreds of times without noticing it.  I know there is a second DAR monument on North Campus honoring Abraham Baldwin.  I wonder if there are more.
