Wishing for summer

During the past few cold days I've been longing for summer.  Of course, I know once those hot humid August days are upon us I will be wishing for cooler weather.

What a nice day yesterday!  This is the view looking towards Lumpkin/Broad intersection from North Campus.

PARROTT INSURANCE BUILDING

Located on Broad Street across from UGA Campus.  Once home to a bank and an insurance company. Current downstairs occupant is...wait for it...a bar.  Surprised?  

1930 Indian Trail Marker

 Located on the corner of Lumpkin and Green Streets, this monument was erected on Nov. 27, 1930  by the Elijah Clarke chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  I have passed by it hundreds of times without noticing it.  I know there is a second DAR monument on North Campus honoring Abraham Baldwin.  I wonder if there are more. 

Wednesday Morning

 A gorgeous sunrise greeted the University of Georgia employees as they came back to work yesterday.
