Spec Towns Track

 

Located on the corner of Lumpkin & Pinecrest, the Forrest "Spec" Towns Track was built in 1964. 

In 1936 Forrest Towns became the first Georgian to be a member of the American Olympic Team.  He won the gold in the 110 m hurdle.  Towns later became the Head Track and Field coach at the University of Georgia.
