The statue is of "Mike" the mascot before Uga. Rumor has it he was a very mean dog and lost his life to a Campus Police officer in fear of his life. Not to be crude, but another rumor/legend says if a virgin ever graduated from UGA, Mike would come back to life and roam campus again.
